My work is varied with the common thread of finding joy with my surroundings and visually sharing my interpretations of the journey. Whether it is an object, the environment, or the human figure, I place a composite of an image and an experience onto a canvas - what is felt and what is seen.

My figurative series is inspired by the full range of conversations and thoughts we carry within ourselves.  My muses are fun expressions of a working hand, exploring the human figure and interpreting our inner dialog. While painting plein-air with watercolors, or with oils in my studio, many interesting patterns and shapes become apparent in the rural landscape especially near my home in La Selva Beach.

I work with a variety of mediums - watercolor, oil, graphite, mixed media - whatever is most appropriate for the image. This keeps my hand fresh and challenged. There is ambiguity in my work which allows for individual interpretation and connection.
